Bout of Books 23 TBR

Wow I just wrote a whole post and it deleted because I switched screens to another app (I am using my phone).
So this is devastating but I am participating in the 23rd Bout of Books readathon. No cover photos until my wrap up at the end of the week once I know what I actually read.

What I hope to read:

Audiobook: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone By J.K. Rowling

Goodreads TBR: Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang by Chelsea Handler

Because of BookTube: The Upside of Unrequited by Becki Abertalli

Ugh, bye for now.

Providence Book Review

Providence by Caroline Kepnes is a character driven novel, each chapter is in the eyes of either of three characters. We have Jon a boy that was kidnapped and then his best friend and the life they lead and how they felt with Jon's disappearance. We also have Eggs a police officer or detective I can't recall which since I read this a month ago (to let the feelings sink in before talking about it).
The story takes place in many different places and times. We see the different characters grow and we either love them or hate them. I hated the two main characters and their relationship, it felt so fake and unreal. The relationships in Eggs life is much more interesting even if most of the relationship between his son isn't even really seen only talked about.
Caroline Kepnes has a good way of making you fall in love with characters who are making bad choices and I'm sure there are some characters in this novel you won't fall in love with, but it is a good read.
The novel starts up fast paced, but in the middle of the book it felt a bit slow and the main characters actions started to annoy me. I don't want to say to much about the story because I love to go into books a bit blind, but this book isn't revolutionary. Nothing really made me think back to this particular novel, but if your looking for a book that will hook you in the very first chapter this is it. Eggs made me want to keep reading the story and I wanted to know what the resolution would be to the main character's problem (which I didn't really enjoy in the end). There was a romance in this novel that I hated, but it drove the story. In the end I liked Eggs and hated the rest of the book. Well not really hated I just didn't enjoy the end result which again you have to pick up the book to know exactly what I mean.

I got a chance to read this book ahead of it's release date thanks to NetGalley, all opinions are my own. If you want to pick this book up for yourself it is available Tuesday June 19.

Bout of Books 22 | TBR

This week I am participating in the 22nd round of Bout of Books, which started today Monday May 14 and ends Sunday May 20.
I have a few books that I hope to finish this week, but I'll be glad to finish at least two of the 4 books on my TBR.

I am currently reading the screenplay of Fantastic Beasts and where to find them by JK Rowling. I picked this book up because I never read all the textbooks (the set of three classroom books assigned to Harry Potter in the series). I though I had finally found an Ebooks of it but I was wrong, but I'm enjoying it either way and it feels just like I'm watching the movie with better ears and eyes.

At some point this week I might pick up Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I placed this book on hold a while ago because everyone was talking about the movie. So I hope I enjoy it and understand things since I heard it has 80s video game terminology.

On my days off I want to read Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda because I heard great things even before the film was released. I want to read it now that the second book came out so that I can read them if I enjoy the characters enough.

And finally I have an anthology written by three different authors, I recently read the first book in this duology and decided to see if this second book was any good. The Anatomy of Curiosity is basically short stories each written by one of the three authors with commentary from the authors.

I have a few more but with my schedule I'm surprised if I even finish these four books this week. I'll be filming updates this entire week so check my YouTube channel next week to see my final updates.

Entry No. 2031 and so on

I'm going to stop with the catch ups every time I stop posting. It's always "I haven't written in so long because I've been busy", I'm not lying about that, but it's sort of a given, right? I stop writing because I have nothing to write about or because I have no time. Also, it's intimidating to have to write a post saying "sorry, but I'm back now" again and again. I'm always at work and when I'm home I just want to relax. Not that this isn't relaxing to me, but it is time consuming. Turning on a laptop, exporting/importing pictures, editing my jumbled up thoughts, etc.. But I guess that I'm just going to come here and write, not worry about the length of time since the last update like every other time.
I plan on starting off with weekly reviews of what I've been up to along side some pictures, to remind me of events as well. Hopefully throwing in a few pictures will keep me from being to boring since my weeks are very bland.
There are also book reviews which I plan on writing so that my readers can get a glimpse of what I've been reading (since I read on my down time) and pick up the book on release dates. I want to get back into read-a-thons so I can hopefully participate in one a few times a month and use my blog as an updating platform.
Anyways I'll be around so come back here for more random updates from me.

Extra Special Update to this Update: I wrote this down over a month ago and I couldn't bring myself to type it out and now that I did my app wouldn't let me publish the post so....🙇🏻
